Got to go...
Since last year’s collapse the New York Mets have slowly but surely begun do develop into a zoo just like their cross town foes from the Bronx. After this week’s episode by Willie Randolph, some answers may finally be coming in to the light of why this is happening. Randolph playing ‘the race card’ is one of the most unprofessional and absurd things ever heard of. Where does he get off thinking that his 4 years at the helm of an underachieving club earn him the respect that the vaunted 4 time world champion Joe Torre gets?
In this world to get respect you have to earn it. And, by routinely taking out successful starting pitchers to put in over worked mentally weak bull pen pitchers along with constantly relying on fading stars like Carlos Delgado to ‘turn it around’ is NOT the way to earn respect.
The fact is Willie needs to get his head out of the media and focus on winning; that is what earns respect. If it takes starting Endy Chavez 90 games this year, or trading Heilman, Delgado, Castro or any and all of the other old non productive pipe dreams that he relies on that is what he needs to do.
Nobody has a problem with what color you are Willie the problem is that the New York Mets are laced with talent and are toying with a .500 record still as June approaches. When the pieces are in place and the result is subpar it is the leadership that is at fault regardless of the heritage, color or religious beliefs.

Willie's got the potential
But little else. The poor guy is going to have to take the fall. I'm honestly disappointed because I thought he had the lineage to make a big difference for the Mets. Why not hire back Bud Harrelson and bring back the fake 'stache and glasses? Is that the best coaching maneuver of all time??
