The Mets announced recently that they will be sporting a new patch on their right sleeve's to commemorate their innagural season at Citi Field. Having personally worked in the graphic/web design field for many years, I am not surprised at this patch. In fact, I would say it's just about up to par considering the direction that some design firms have taken very expensive clients recently.

The overall design is fairly straight forward, it's just a bit bland. Frankly, I'd prefer to see a smaller patch that would never get in the players way or distract them from launching bombs over the left center field fence.

Hopefully Wilpon isn't trying to make up for all the money he lost with Bernie Madoff by selling sponsorship rights to the uniforms. The Mets could be on the field looking like they are about to race nascars with all the sponsors needed to make up for those losses!
