Jose Reyes to get Surgery on Hamstring
Lets add insult to injury shall we? After the depleted NY Mets watched every player making over $2MM a season get hurt, Jose Reyes announces that surgery is now an option to repair his torn right hamstring.
The question of course is, why the FLIP didn't he get that taken care of in May, June, July....?
If Jose Reyes confirms the NY Mets rumor and gets surgery to repair his hamstring, he may need an additional 6 months to a year to fully recover. Without healthy and strong hamstrings, Jose Reyes is a good defensive short stop who hits .275. That's not good enough for the Mets to be contenders in 2010. The Mets need Jose Reyes to steal bases, torment catchers, and score runs from first base on bloop singles like he's done his entire career.
Is this another sign that the NY Mets medical and training staff are completely worthless? How many more players will need extensive rehabilitation to get healthy enough to play an entire season. Hey Omar Minaya, do your job! Replace your trainers!
