Slow Start for Mets

Not much to write home about the current state of affairs for the NY Mets. Santana has looked sharp, Pedro Martinez is on the DL, AGAIN, Maine got rocked, and Perez has been up and down like a roller coaster.

I was under the impression that the Mets had found blue sky under that terrible cloud that surrounded them down the stretch last year. Apparently I didn't do enough homework, because we decided to start this year off just as poorly as we finished last season.

Unfortunately these short-commings have to be assigned to someone. Typically the coach will take the fall for this type of crappy play, but in this situation, I just don't see how that's possible. Willie Randolph has been outstanding and other then last years blip on the radar, and this seasons slow start, has been one of the best Mets coach's in history.

One thing to remember, you can't win a pennant in April, but you sure can lose one.
